“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” Jung.

Fear is a dense and amorphous feeling that is born from the unseen. It is a fragile and delicate thread as the anxiety that it generates. Silenced by reason lies intangible and resists to be recognized.

Sofia opened a conscious and sincere path to her uncertainties. It allowed the existence of that emotion, to despair it, to reveal it until materialized.
Each image breaks the rhythm of our comfort, disarming the structure that leads us to safe ground. Open the shield that protects us when we deny. Each image is a silence, a strange cry. It is the consequence of tearing each of our strengths. Each image is a process of introspective observation that seeks to be recognized in someone else;s  fear to finally let go.

Using photography as a bond, reflected in foreign situations, Sofia transited her fears.
“Impermanent” is the end of a cycle. It is the beginning of a tangible and irreversible change. It is the ultimate fear purge. It is the present still absent. It is the shadow of the past that disappears with the shine of its own light. Its to surrender, to give up the fight knowing that it is no longer a threat. Its  to receive it as a dark area and only then, understand it.

Every end is a beginning. To fear is to go through the impermanence.
